Assam: Two From Tea Community Secure APSC Ranks

GUWAHATI: Two persons from the tea community of Lakwa, Chairaideo namely Bikrom Chasha and Dipawoli Kurmi secured ranks in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), results of which were declared on 24th December 2020. The two secured 24th and 35th rank respectively.


Terming the tea tribe community as very hard working, who are also known for their fortitude, Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal said that since the British era, the people belonging to the tea tribe community have been working diligently. It is because of their hard labour that Assam Tea has been able to secure worldwide distinction.


"We have sincerely worked towards empowering the tea garden community, which has contributed immensely to Assam's progress. I also felicitated APSC rank holders Shri Bikrom Chasha & Shri Dipawoli Kurmi and commended ATTSA for their huge service to uplift the community." tweeted the chief minister.
