Assam Transport Dept To Launch Operation 'All Clear' Against Vehicles Flouting Norms

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Transport Department will be launching operation 'All Clear' from March 1 against all vehicles running without proper documentation and those which are yet to clear arrear taxes. 

District Transport Officer (DTO) (Licensing and Registration), Gautam Das said that the Operation 'Sarkhar' that is currently been undertaken will end on February 28, following which operation 'All Clear' will be launched across Assam.  

The department has been taking strict steps to ensure that all vehicular documents are renewed post the extention that was granted due to the pandemic. Further, the DTO has been urging people to clear off arrear taxes that have been pending for years. 

DTO Das stated that stringent action will be taken against vehicles that are found to violate the rules post February 28. 

As per data provides to G Plus, the DTO Kamrup Metro has colleced a total of Rs. 13,31,70,022 as arrear tax between April 2021 to January 2022.

During this period the office had collected Rs. 15,35,122,356 as total revenue.
