GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved the Textiles and Apparel Policy, Assam, 2025, aiming to create an investor-friendly environment for the sector.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the update on his X handle after the state cabinet meeting held on Sunday, February 23.
The policy seeks to secure easy access to raw materials and manpower, and has also been implemented to encourage fresh investments.
By strengthening Assam’s position as a textile and apparel hub, the government seeks to foster industrial growth, job creation, and sustainable development in the sector. The move also aligns with the state’s broader strategy to promote manufacturing and attract future investors.
Another key decision taken in the meeting was the approval of ₹55.45 crore for urban infrastructure development in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
