GUWAHATI: In Assam’s Karimganj district a school teacher’s Facebook post went viral in which he asked all girl students to wear hijabs.

As per reports, AB Hannan who works at East Point Public School, Kanishail wrote on Facebook, “To protect my students from evil eyes and as a part of best personality of girls today I made compulsory wearing ‘Hijab’ for my all girls students at East Point Public School, Karimganj.”

He also shared a picture along with this caption which displayed a few girls of the school wearing the hijab over their school uniforms.

His post was shared widely on Facebook and some even questioned the move. However, Hannan later deleted the post.

“My post on ‘hijab’ has hurt feelings of many. Since the school authorities also didn’t give a go-ahead for the move, wearing of ‘hijab’ has been been made voluntary,” he wrote.

However, reports mentioned that the school authorities were not in support of Hannan’s decision. Further, the school administration took the decision that wearing of hijab will not be made compulsory in the school.
