Guwahati: The Supreme Court on Monday fixed 30th July 2018, for publishing Assam's complete National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The earlier deadline for the publication of complete updated NRC was June 30, 2018.
The NRC directorate tasked with publishing had approached the Supreme Court, seeking more time as NRC work got hampered by the sudden flood in three districts and the Barak Valley.
Prateek Hajela, State NRC coordinator after the first wave of floods from June 13 had raised concern as NRC sewa kendras got affected by floods.
Then the NRC directorate moved the Supreme Court to seek a deferral of the deadline.
