Assam State Zoo Welcomes Two Royal Bengal Tiger Cubs

GUWAHATI: Two Royal Bengal Tiger cubs were born in the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden on February 3. The cubs were born to Kazi, a 7-year-old tigress.

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forests Force (PCCF & HoFF) Assam, Amit Sahai, told G Plus that the cubs were born on February 3.

"The gender is not yet known as they have not been separated from the mother due to cold weather," Sahai added. 

With the birth, the population of Royal Bengal Tigers in the Assam Zoo has increased to 7. Additionally, there are 2 tigers in the Zoo. 

Kazi, the tigress, had previously given birth to two cubs in August 2020. These cubs Suresh and Sultan are healthy.
