Assam State Zoo welcomes new inmates

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden has welcomed a number of new inmates in its premises.

“One male lion named Dhiren, one female lion named Rani, one pair of blossom parakeets, one pair of pelicans, painted stork, a new species of parrot and a new species of crane have been brought to the zoo,” informed an official from the zoo.

These animals have been bought from Sakkarbaug Zoological Park in Junagadh, Gujarat.
