Assam State Zoo Earns Rs. 2.82 lakh Revenue on Jan 1

GUWAHATI: Assam Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya on January 2 said that a total of 10,762 people visited the Assam State zoo on January 1.

The minister wrote on Twitter via his handle, "Glad to share with you all that @assamzoo Assam state zoo on the occasion of new year celebrations today witnessed an impressive number of visitors who came in along with friends & families to witness the beautiful animals, birds & other species, which is home to about 895 animals, birds, and reptiles representing almost 113 species of animals and birds from around the world, on the first day of 2020."

“Total revenue earned on January 1st, 2020 was 2,82,160,” informed the minister.

Meanwhile, Assam has also witnessed a significant increase in forest cover of 0.79 percent compared to the last assessment in 2017.
