GUWAHATI: The Assam State Transportation Corporation (ASTC) recently launched its own full-fledged online E-ticketing service in collaboration with Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (AMTRON). The software Pilot Project mode for the route from Guwahati to Tezpur via Nagaon was initiated on July 21.

The tickets will be available at www.astcbus.com. Before launching the service, the ASTC had to provide an e-ticketing service via the redBus application.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Managing Director of ASTC, the online e-ticketing service has been initially initiated in the districts of

Kamrup (Metro) and Sonitpur of Assam. The release also said that the other routes will be followed accordingly.

Talking to G Plus, the Managing Director of ASTC said, “We had an e-ticketing service in Guwahati before, but it was not a full-fledged service. We had a tie-up with redBus. This time, we have launched this e-ticketing service in collaboration with AMTRON. As a pilot project, we have started the route from Guwahati to Tezpur. We also launched a toll-free number for the passengers to file their grievances.”

The commuters can avail of the e-ticketing services on ASTC bus both in the city and inter-district services.

The ASTC has also initiated a Toll-free helpline number: 1800-345-3986.
