GUWAHATI: The Assam State Election Commission has released the schedule for updating and publishing the constituency-wise Electoral Roll for the upcoming Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections. This follows the publication of the fresh electoral roll for corresponding Legislative Assembly Constituencies by the Election Commission of India on January 6, with the Date of Eligibility set as January 1.

Previously, the final Electoral Roll for all RHAC constituencies, based on eligibility as of January 1, was published on December 26, 2024, by respective Electoral Registration Officers. With the latest electoral roll update, the following timeline has been set for the revision process:
-Publication of Draft Electoral Roll: February 7, 2025
-Last Date for Filing Claims & Objections: February 21, 2025
-Last Date for Disposal of Claims & Objections: February 28, 2025
-Publication of Final Electoral Roll: March 2, 2025
The electoral roll update will be conducted as per Rule 16 of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (Election) Rules, 2005, in accordance with Government Order No. E-582139/176 dated January 25.
The District Election Officers, Returning Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers assigned during the 2024 electoral roll revision will continue in their roles. However, in urgent cases, District Commissioners have the authority to appoint or replace Electoral Registration Officers (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) without prior approval, subject to ex-post-facto approval from the State Election Commissioner.
