GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet in its recent cabinet meeting held today, January 12, 2023, in Janata Bhawan in Guwahati took some key decisions for the overall development of the state among many more.
The Assam Cabinet has decided to set up a 50 Mega Watt (MW) Solar Park in the Borsola town of the Sonitpur district in Assam.
The land allotted for the construction of this solar park measures 864 bighas, 2 kathas and 11 lessas.
An eviction drive was earlier carried out on the land where the solar park has been planned to be constructed. A total of 299 families were evicted from the 1,000 bighas of government land in a riverine area in September 2022, as per media reports.
The district administration carried out the eviction with multiple bulldozers in the presence of a massive contingent of armed security personnel.
