Assam Secures 26 Medals Till Now At 37th National Games

 

GUWAHATI: Assam's contingent at the 37th National Games which is being held in Goa from October 25 to November 9 saw the sportspersons leaving a mark with their commendable performance in various events tallying a total of 26 medals in all events till now. 

Medals have been clinched by the players with 5 gold, 8 silver, and 13 bronze medals in different categories and sports.

In the Kyorugi event, Assam's Nirman Rupam Kashyap (competing in the U-54 kg category) clinched the silver medal.

In the Poomsae event, in the boys' group, Pritam Kishore Borah, Rishabh Choudhary, and Debasish Kr. Roy secured the bronze medal.

In the girls' group, Mahasweta Kashyap, Akansha P Gogoi, and Sweta Kashyap secured the silver medal in the Poomsae event.

In swimming Astha Choudhary won a gold medal for women's 200 meters (butterfly), Bikram Changmai won a silver medal for men's 200 meters (butterfly) and Shivangi Sharma won the silver as well. In Wushu, Rangila Daimary won the silver and Padmini Narzary won the bronze. 

In Table tennis, Anal Kashyap, Saidul Alam Ahmed, Shankab Gautam Baruah, Agniv Bhaskar Gohain, and Priyanuj Bhattacharjee won the bronze medal.
