GUWAHATI: India’s largest banker, State Bank of India (SBI), is trying to find ways for effective rodent control in ATMs after notes worth Rs 12,38,000 were destroyed by rodent in an ATM in Tinsukia district.
Chief General Manager of North-eastern circle of SBI, Sunil Kumar Tandon said, “We will think in terms of pest control and ways to deal with such kind of rodent menace.”
According to SBI, a total of Rs. 29.48 lakh was fed to the machine on 19th May and due to some technical reason the machine mal-functioned from 20th May (next day) onwards.
When the maintenance crew opened the drawers on 11th June they were for a surprise as they found bits and pieces of pink and green leftovers.
