GUWAHATI: The Union Ministry of Defence has rejected Assam’s tableau for Republic Day celebrations which is held every year in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day.
According to reports, the reason for rejecting this years tableau was "misinterpretation of the theme."
Assam was to display Mahatma Gandhi's visit to Sualkuchi in the year 1946 - which is often referred to as the "Manchester of the East".
However, the tableau prepared and sent for the parade was different.
