Assam’s SSB jawan martyred in Jharkhand

GUWAHATI: Niraj Chetri, a Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan, was martyred on June 2 in an ambush with Maoist in Jharkhand’s Dumka district.

Niraj Chetri was a resident of Kaoripathar Karibil Nepali village in Gohpur.

According to reports, Chetri died in the encounter between the SSB and Maoists in forests of Taldangal when a search operation was going at around 3.30 AM, Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh said.

Another SSB  personnel, Constable Rajesh Rai was also seriously injured in the attack and has been airlifted to Ranchi to a government hospital.
