Assam’s 6th national park to be set in Dima Hasao

GUWAHATI: Assam’s sixth national park will be situated in Dima Hasao district, which will consist of lush greens and many inaccessible jungles of the area. 

This national park in Dima Hasao district will be Assam’s sixth national park after Kaziranga, Manas, Nameri, Dibru-Saikhowa and Orang.

The proposed protected area, the Simleng River Impenetrable National Park will cover approximately 100 sq kms and also form a large contiguous conservation belt along with the adjacent Borail Wildlife Sanctuary of Cachar district and Nampuh Wildlife Sanctuary, near Meghalaya.
