As per media reports, a rhino calf died in a head-on fight with another rhino. Again on Thursday morning, another rhino calf was found dead by the forest workers in the Tamulidoba area of Pobitora.

The estimated age of the dead rhino calf is two years.

However, the Guwahati Wildlife DFO Jayanta Deka has told G Plus that the death of the rhino "is from weakness." "The rhino calf was weak and it is a natural death," Deka said.

On the issue of reports of infighting, he has revealed a veterinary report is expected, which will clear the air on the matter.
