Assam Revises Biotechnology Policy To Promote Research & Industry

GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved modifications to the state's existing Biotechnology Policy (2022-2027) to create a more conducive environment for research, industrial growth, and entrepreneurship in biotechnology.

This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma after the state cabinet meeting held on Sunday, February 23.

The updated policy aims to align Assam’s biotechnology sector with the national BioE3 Policy, ensuring better support for scientific research, industry collaborations, and startup ventures.

The move is also expected to boost innovation and investment in the state.

In a related decision, the cabinet also introduced the Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) Scheme, 2025, for medical professionals.
