GUWAHATI: A pregnant woman has been allegedly murdered over demands of dowry in an Assamese household.

The woman was found hanging in her house, which the family has claimed as "suicide". However, an inquest by Police has revealed alleged murder.
G Plus spoke to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sualkuchi Police Station, who confirmed the development.

"We are waiting for the post mortem report which will ascertain the nature of the death. But from our initial investigation we have found out that there were demands made for money," stated the Official.
As per insiders, the husband and wife used to constantly indulge in a spat. The Assam Police will undertake a further investigation on the matter today.
