GUWAHATI: A pregnant elephant and a calf died of poisoning on Sunday, December 12. The carcasses of the pregnant elephant and a male calf were found at Borbheta Gaon, east side of the Forest Range Office, Dolamora bordering Kaziranga National Park.
"We have detected tentative evidence of poisoning in the post mortem. This will be sent to forensics for a confirmation," Dr Samshul Ali, who conducted the post mortem told G Plus.
As per sources, the 1.5 year old female pregnant elephant was the mother of the 5 year old calf.
