Assam: Power Disrupted After Storm Erupts In Jorhat And Golaghat

 

GUWAHATI: A storm in the Titabar region in Assam's Jorhat district left behind devastation and disruption for the local residents on Monday.

Multiple locations across various areas bore the brunt of the calamity, resulting in significant damage to critical infrastructure and the uprooting of electricity poles.

 

The aftermath of this storm has wreaked havoc on travel and power supply in the affected regions, causing substantial inconvenience to the local residents, media reports stated.

Meanwhile, Golaghat was also subjected to a similar storm during the early hours of Tuesday. The extensive damage inflicted by this natural calamity includes the uprooting of trees, particularly in areas such as Padumoni and Dhekial villages, exacerbating the challenges faced by the communities, as per media reports.

Moreover, the storm's intensity resulted in the destruction of power-bearing poles, severely disrupting the power supply of the regions. This added to the predicament faced by residents already grappling with the aftermath of the storm.
