Assam: Post Publication Of NRC Final List, 60-year-old Woman Commits Suicide

GUWAHATI: Just an hour after the NRC final list was published on August 31, a 60-year-old woman committed suicide in Sonitpur district after she found that her name was not included in the final NRC list. 

The deceased, identified as Shayera Begum from No. 1 Dolabari village near Tezpur, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well. 

It should be noted that a total of 19,06,657 have been left out of the final list of NRC.
