GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday sent a proposal to Governor Gulab Chandra Kataria to approve the reallocation of portfolios of two ministers of the state.
As per the letter sent to the Governor, CM Sarma has requested that Revenue & Disaster Management, and Hill Areas Development minister Jogen Mohan be given additional charge as the minister of Mines & Minerals.
Meanwhile, Power, Cooperation, Mines & Minerals, Indigenous & Tribal Faith and Culture (except Directorates of Library & Museum) minister Nandita Garlosa from now on will be the minister of Power, Cooperation, Sports & Youth Welfare Department, Indigenous & Tribal Faith and Culture (Only the Directorate of Archeology)
Further, it is poroposed that the indigenous & Tribal Faith and Culture (except Directorates of Library & Museum and Directorate of Archaeology) may be allocated to the CM himself.
"The existing allocation of the other Departments may kindly be allowed to remain unaltered," the letter added.
The Governor is yet to approve the request and sign the letter.
