IMD Predicts Thunderstorms To Hit Assam On March 12-13

 

GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms with lightning for isolated places in Assam from Tuesday, March 12 to March 13.

The weather prediction also included gusty winds of 40-50 kmph along with heavy rainfall in certain areas.

According to the recent IMD bulletin, thunderstorms are likely to affect multiple districts. On March 13, scattered rainfall and thunderstorms are expected, with a possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in some regions.

By March 14, thunderstorms with lightning will remain likely at isolated locations. However, the intensity of wind gusts is predicted to decrease to 30-40 kmph in specific areas. No severe weather warnings have been issued beyond this period.

The IMD has advised residents to stay alert, especially in districts with a high likelihood of thunderstorms. Authorities have  urged the public to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of sudden weather changes.
