Amit Shah To Visit Assam On March 14, Inaugurate Police Academy & Address ABSU Conference

 

GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Assam on a three-day visit from Friday, March 14, during which he will inaugurate the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon and address the annual conference of the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) in Kokrajhar.

Shah will inaugurate the police academy on March 15 before traveling to Mizoram. He will then return to Guwahati for an overnight stay. On March 16, he will address the 57th ABSU annual conference in Kokrajhar before departing for Delhi.
ABSU president Dipen Boro stated that the four-day conference, starting March 13 at Dotma in Kokrajhar district, has been scheduled to bring together policymakers, educators, and community leaders to discuss education and youth development. The event will focus on ‘Mission Quality Education Movement-2030’, reinforcing efforts to improve academic frameworks and skill-building opportunities.

A dedicated education and youth conclave will also explore strategies to empower students and professionals. Experts will analyse the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on regional education, while scholars, policymakers, and industry specialists will contribute perspectives on enhancing education and employment opportunities.

A special session on ‘Bodofa’ Upendra Nath Brahma’s vision will discuss his contributions to social transformation and cultural preservation. Additionally, another discussion will focus on peace, unity, and sustainable development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), aiming to strengthen cooperation between communities.

The event will feature sports tournaments, literary contests, a cultural evening, and an exhibition-cum-book fair showcasing Bodo heritage.

The open session on the final day will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, senior ministers, parliamentarians, and other stakeholders.
