GUWAHATI: The Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Wednesday, December 22, launched a mobile-friendly online portal to provide quick and easy assistance of Rs 50,000 under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to the Next of Kin (NoK) of the deceased who died due to COVID-19 in Assam.
The web portal provides for submission of online applications by the family members of COVID-19 deceased by filling in the required details in the portal.
The program was launched at an online event in the NIC-Video Conference Room at Assam Secretariat in Dispur, along with all Deputy Commissioners (DC) of the State in virtual mode.

Avinarh P Joshi, IAS, Principal Secretary, Revenue and DM Department appealed to all the DCs to process the applications received in the web portal and complete it within 30 days of the application in accordance with the guidelines given by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and directions of the Supreme Court of India.
