GUWAHATI: Assam Police Sub Inspector, Junmoni Rabha has been transferred from Nagaon Police Station to Kaliabor. There are accusations against Rabha for colluding with her to-be-husband Rana Pagog and taking cash from businessmen in Majuli.
An audio clip has been doing rounds on social media platforms that questions the alleged involvement of Junmoni Rabha in the corruption case.
Also, talking to the media the Majuli Police admitted filing a case against Junmoni Rabha based on complaints by several businessmen.
"Two FIRs have been received on May 10 and based on it we have filed the case. The investigation process has started," said Officer in-Charge of Garmur Police Station, Majuli to a TV channel.
Nagaon Superintendant of Police Leena Doley told the media that action will be taken against Junmoni Rabha if evidence surfaces.
"We have come to know that a case has been registered in Majuli. But it has not been officially confirmed to us. If there is such a case and if offence is committed by a uniformed or civilian person we will take action as per law. We will investigate into the matter and there won't be any obstructions. Our main focus is the truth and facts of the case must come out," said Nagaon SP, Leena Doley.
"The audio recording needs to be technically established that the voice belongs to the person who they are alleged to be speaking. So that takes a little bit of time," added the Nagaon SP.
Junmoni Rabha was in news recently for getting her fiancé arrested in a cheating and forgery case.
