GUWAHATI: The Cachar Police intercepted a haul of illegal substances near Lailapur. Following credible intelligence, police apprehended a suspect and seized a vehicle during the special operation on Sunday, November 3.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 30 soap boxes containing approximately 375 grams of suspected heroin, along with 20,000 YABA tablets.The combined value of the confiscated contraband is estimated at nearly ₹ 7 crore.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding the origins and intended distribution of the seized narcotics.
Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said about the operation in a post on X (formerly Twitter), noting, “Acting on credible intelligence, @cacharpolice conducted a special operation today at Lailapur, leading to the seizing of a vehicle and the apprehension of an individual. The search resulted in the recovery of 30 soap boxes containing approx 375 grams of heroin, alongside 20,000 YABA tablets.The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately ₹7 crore.”
