GUWAHATI: On Sunday, November 3, Morigaon police successfully apprehended Ziarul Islam, 23, one of the inmates who had escaped from Morigaon jail on October 11.

A joint operation led by Morigaon police, with assistance from Andhra Pradesh police, resulted in the capture of Islam in Chullurupeta.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Morigaon police station confirmed the news, stating, "One of the jail escapees has been recaptured in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining two escapees, Nur Islam and Mafidul Islam."
This development follows the earlier recapture of Saifuddin, another inmate from the same group, who was arrested on October 26 in the Nagaon Stand area, under the jurisdiction of Morigaon Sadar Police Station.
Earlier, the body of Abdul Rashid, one of the prisoners who fled was discovered in a pond in Lahorighat on Monday, October 14.
The ongoing investigation aims to search the remaining two absconding escapees, Nur Islam and Mafidul Islam.
