GUWAHATI: Sivasagar police on Friday (May 17) has recovered a suicide note from the quarter of a government employee, who has been engaged in NRC claims and objection related work and has been missing for the last three days.
The missing person has been identified as Diganta Saikia, assistant engineer of water resource department.

In his suicide note, Diganta Saikia said that he had decided to take the drastic step as was unable to “bear the mental pressure” due to “ignorance of knowledge”. The authenticity of the letter is yet to be ascertained.
However, police are still clueless whether Saikia is alive or not as they have not recovered his body.
As per reports, family of Diganta Saikia lodged a complaint with the Sivasagar Police after he went missing.
