GUWAHATI: A team of Kamrup Police has successfully recovered 19 pieces of gold bars worth over Rs 1 crore in market value from a private vehicle. An FIR has been registered in Hajo Police Station and two persons have been apprehended in connection with the case.
The matter was confirmed to G Plus by Kamrup Superintendent of Police (SP) Hitesh Ch. Ray.
"The vehicle was going toward Barpeta from Guwahati city, carrying 19 gold bars worth more than Rs 1 crore”, said SP Hitesh Ch. Ray.
He added, “The vehicle was stopped on suspicion and the gold bars were recovered safely. In this connection, two persons were apprehended and the private vehicle was seized. A prompt investigation is underway.”
