Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami on Sunday while celebrating Assam Police Day said that it is only through an improved police-public relationship that the law and order situation can be kept under control and the society at large can progress in a holistic manner. Goswami, while speaking as a chief guest of the Assam Police Day, said that police should live up to the expectations of the people in general and a mutual trust has to be maintained all throughout to maintain public order.
The Assam Police Day was organized centrally at the 4th Assam Police Battalion campus on Sunday. All the district headquarters also observed the day.
