GUWAHATI: An Assam Police commando, identified as Girish Dutta, was stabbed to death in Makum, Tinsukia on June 3.
As per reports, Dutta was brutally assaulted and repeatedly stabbed by unidentified miscreants. He was coming back home along with his father after attending the Kendriya Adhibeshan of Asom Moran Sabha and Moran Jatiya Mahila Parishad at Tingrai, Tinsukia when the incident occurred.
The incident took place near the office of the 2nd Assam Police Battalion in Makum.
Staging a protest at the NH-38, agitated locals demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
