Assam: Ministers, Officials Bid Adieu To Outgoing Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua At Janata Bhawan

 

GUWAHATI: In Janata Bhawan, many ministers and officials bid adieu to outgoing Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua today, August 31. Barua will retire today from the Indian Administrative Service on reaching the superannuation age. 

The Chief Secretary was lauded for the dedicated service he extended to the State and its residents for more than three decades at his office in Assam Secretariat on Wednesday, August 31.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and many officials visited the Chief Secretary’s office to wish him a  happy and healthy post-retirement life.

Jishnu Barua, a 1988-batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, prior to his appointment as the State's Chief Secretary, had worked in various capacities under both the government of Assam and the Central government.
