GUWAHATI: A man was allegedly set on fire by his in-laws in Selenghat, Mariani on February 6.
The deceased has been identified as Munna Ali.
According to media reports, after a dispute with his wife, Munna was allegedly set on fire by his brother-in-law, Ramjan Ali.
The family of the deceased have filed an FIR at the Selenghat police station against Ramjan and his family. They have demanded strict action against them.
Ali’s in-laws have claimed that Munna entered the house in an inebriated condition and suddenly poured petrol on himself and set his body on fire.
Following the incident, Ali’s daughter alleged that her uncle Ramjan Ali had killed her father.
A case has been registered against the accused and further interrogation is underway.
