GUWAHATI: A son has been accused of killing his 60-year-old mother in Bihali’s Balipukhuri of Assam. The body of the deceased mother, identified as Sawoni Gowala, has been recovered from her sleeping bed.
The villagers have alleged that Shambhu Gowala killed his mother in a drunken state.

According to reports, the son had been assaulting his mother for a while now and had also attempted to kill her a few times in the past.
Shambhu’s son, who had been a witness of his grandmother being assaulted, stated that his father beat Sawoni to death with a shoe.
Reports say that Sawoni has sustained evident marks of assault on her body and the police have detained Shambhu Gowala in connection with the incident.
