GUWAHATI: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar has announced the election dates for Assam - 19 April, 26 April and 7th May. The Lok Sabha 2024 Elections for Assam has been divided into three phases.
The first phase will have 5 Parliamentary Constituencies, consisting of Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, and Jorhat, all under the General Schedule. The districts under these 5 parliamentary constituencies are Sonitpur, Nagaon, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Tinsukia, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Majuli, and Charaideo. The voting for the first phase will be held on April 19, 2024. The last date for filing the nominations is March 27, 2024. The date of scrutiny of nominations is March 28, 2024, and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is March 30, 2024.

The second phase also will have 5 Parliamentary Constituencies, consisting of Darrang-Ualguri(Gen), Diphu(ST), Karimganj(Gen), Silchar(SC), and Nagaon(Gen). The districts under these 5 parliamentary constituencies are West Karbi Anglong, Diphu, Halflong, Silchar, Hailkandi, Karimganj, Morigaon, Darrang, Udalguri, Tezpur, Nagaon, and Hojai. The date of the poll for the second phase is April 26, 2024. The last date for filing the nominations is April 4, 2024. The date of scrutiny of nominations is April 5, 2024, and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is April 8, 2024.
The third phase will have 4 Parliamentary Constituencies, consisting of Kokrajhar(ST), Dhubri(Gen), Barpeta(Gen), and Guwahati(Gen). The districts under these 4 parliamentary constituencies are Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara-Mancachar, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Chirang, Nalbari, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, and Baksa. The date of polls for the third phase will be held on May 7, 2024. The last date for filing the nominations is April 19, 2024. The date of scrutiny of nominations is April 20, 2024, and the last date of withdrawal of nominations is April 22, 2024.
The counting of votes will be done on June 4, 2024. for all constituencies.
The LS election across the country will happen in seven phases. Assembly elections in four states will happen simultaneously. Bi-Election in 26 legislative constituencies will also happen simultaneously.
