GUWAHATI: Essential services like pharmacies, grocery stores, petrol pumps, water supply, banking will be exempted from the Assam lockdown and will continue to remain operational, stated state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, March 23.
He added that banks, treasury department as well government offices dealing with financial planning will remain open during this period.
Further, hospital, ambulance and other public health services will also remain open, said the minister.
It is to be mentioned that a lockdown will be imposed in Assam from 6 pm on March 24 till March 31.
