GUWAHATI: Landslides triggered by incessant rains killed around 20 people in Assam’s Barak Valley districts today.
Of the deceased, seven people were from Bolobabazar of Hailakandi district where the landslide hit a tinned house injuring two more.

Seven others were killed in another landslide in Cachar district while 6 more died in Karimganj district.
“Deeply anguished at the loss of lives due to landslides triggered by incessant rain in Barak valley. I have directed Cachar, Hailakandi & Karimganj district administrations and SDRF to step up rescue, relief operations and facilitate all possible help needed to those affected,” tweeted Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on the incident.
