Assam: Kaziranga National Park To Reopen For Tourists Soon

GUWAHATI: The Kaziranga National Park (KNP) of Assam is all set to reopen for tourists on Friday, October 1.

However, tourists will only be allowed to have jeep safaris at two specific ranges, Kohora (Central) and Bagori (Western). This was confirmed to G Plus by KNP Director P Sivakumar.

As of now, the much sought-after elephant ride will not be available. The elephant safari is said to resume from November, as revealed by Park authorities to G Plus.

The KNP had been closed due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in the State amid the second wave of the pandemic. The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest issued an order on May 3, stating the closure of Assam's Kaziranga National Park for tourists until further notice.
