Assam: Kaziranga National Park Plans to Invite Actor Akshay Kumar

GUWAHATI: Kaziranga National Park (KNP) authorities are planning to invite Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar to visit the area.

This comes after various initiatives have been carried out in the park with the help of Rs 1 crore donation given by Akshay Kumar previously. As such, the authorities want him to visit the park upon completion of the work. 


This was informed to G Plus by Kaziranga National Park Director P Shivkumar. 


A road has been constructed in the park's cluster of Badordubi from the funds which Akshay Kumar had donated during the Assam floods in July 2019. The route will be used as Highland to provide shelter to wildlife during the flood season.


"Due to the COVID-19, some of the work got stalled. But, now we are trying to complete the remaining by February," the Director told G Plus. 


Further, Akshay Rath, a patrolling boat has been made with the money donated by the actor. The authorities plan to make an anti-poaching camp before February 2021 and invite the Khiladi star to Assam after that.
