Assam: Kamrup Revenue Official Apprehended In Bribery Case

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam (DVAC)  on Monday, October 28 caught Hirendra Choudhury, Senior Assistant of Kamalpur Revenue Circle in Kamrup district, red-handed while accepting a bribe.

A trap was laid by a team from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam at the Office of the Circle Officer, Kamalpur Revenue Circle, Dist. Kamrup and Hirendra Choudhury was caught red-handed immediately after he accepted ₹2700/- (rupees two thousand seven hundred only) as demanded bribe from the complainant. The tainted bribe money has been recovered from his possession and has been seized accordingly in the presence of independent witnesses.

Choudhury was apprehended as he allegedly received the bribe from a complainant in relation to land mutation work.

Further investigations are underway to gather more details surrounding the case.
