GUWAHATI: The prestigious IDPA Award for Best Student Film at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2024 has been awarded to "Chanchisoa (Expectation)", a poignant short film directed by Elvachisa Ch Sangma and Dipankar Das. Produced by the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute Assam, this 30-minute masterpiece is set in the Garo language and explores deep themes of identity, love, and human connection against the backdrop of nature and a matrilineal society.
