Assam: Incessant rains wreak havoc in Kokrajhar; Floodwater enters MP's residence

GUWAHATI: Assam has been hit by one of its worst floods in recent times as people in 30 districts have been affected.

In the latest report, MP Biswajit Daimary, while speaking to Inside Northeast, said that Kokrajhar town has been completely inundated by incessant rains.

“No one has been spared by the floods here. All are suffering equally. Waters levels are rising, in fact. The water level might be receding in other areas of Assam, but no such luck in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas”, Daimary added.

Reportedly, even the MP's residence has been submerged by floodwaters.

It is to be mentioned that although the rest of Assam is starting to see mild improvements, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas are seeing a renewed spell of rains.
