Assam: Illicit Liquor And Firewood Seized In Kamrup Metro

GUWAHATI: In a recent enforcement operation conducted on August 11, by Kamrup Metro authorities, a thorough inspection of the Paltanbazar and Birubari circles seizure and destruction of certain illicit items were done. 

The operation centred around the Kamal Nagar Hill area, resulting in the seizure and subsequent destruction of significant quantities of illicit items such as illicit liquor and firewood. 

Notably, the operation yielded a commendable outcome with zero violations recorded under Section 53 (1) a.

The enforcement efforts encompassed two key circles namely Paltanbazar and Birubari both within the Kamrup Metro region.

The primary focus was on the Kamal Nagar Hill area, where authorities intensified their efforts to combat illegal activities.

The enforcement report for this operation highlights the substantial quantities of seized items, illustrating the determination of law enforcement agencies to uphold the rule of law and maintain public safety.

The report includes the following details:
Area: Kamal Nagar Hill Number of Cases Under Section 53 (1) a: Nil
Items Seized and Destroyed:

-Firewood (F/W): Approximately 800 kg
-Illicitly Distilled Liquor (I/D): Approximately 120 litres

 

In another bust,an enforcement operation conducted on August 11, by Kamrup Metro authorities, a thorough inspection of the Railway circle seizure and destruction of illicit items was done. 

 

It was a joint effort pulled off by the excise staff from Birubari, Jalukbari, along with police officers from Maligaon Police Outpost and Railway Police. 

 

The operation covered key areas including Maligaon, Friday Market, and Athgaon, resulting in significant actions against illicit activities.

 

During the operation, a substantial amount of illicit goods were seized and subsequently destroyed. 

 

Illegal Firewood: None

Illicit Distilled Liquor: Approximately 160 liter
