GUWAHATI: In a recent development to the Khargharia suicide case, police arrested the absconding son and daughter-in-law of Rajani Khargharia in Guwahati.
Debashish Khargharia and his wife Geetashree Khargharia had been absconding for 18 days, post the recovery of the bodies of the Khargharia couple on July 1.
Acting on a tip-off, Sivasagar police arrested the duo from a house in Lachit Nagar on Wednesday at around 9:30 pm in Guwahati. They have been taken to Sivasagar immediately after the arrest and will be produced before the Court.
It is to be mentioned that Debashish Khargharia is an employee with ONGC while his wife Geetashree is a government school teacher.
The deceased couple had left behind letters to the Sivasagar media fraternity, Police Station in-charge, residents of the area, artists’ community and the family members citing the negligence of their son and daughter-in-law as the reason behind their death.
