GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has released a summary of the results from the Higher Secondary Examination for 2023 and 2024, revealing a marked improvement in pass percentages across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams.

In the Arts stream, the total number of candidates in 2024 was 200,495, with 40,499 achieving first division, 65,532 in second division, and 72,775 in third division, resulting in a pass percentage of 89.18%. This is a significant jump from 2023, where 261,231 candidates appeared, with a pass percentage of 70.12%.
The Science stream also saw an increase in success rates. In 2024, 54,460 candidates appeared, with 23,552 securing first division, 17,339 in second division, and 8,062 in third division, leading to an overall pass percentage of 89.88%. This is a notable improvement from 2023, where 46,383 candidates had an overall pass percentage of 84.96%.

The Commerce stream reported a similar trend. In 2024, 17,307 candidates appeared, with 5,915 achieving first division, 6,087 in second division, and 3,194 in third division, resulting in a pass percentage of 87.80%. This was a considerable increase from 2023, where 20,417 candidates had an overall pass percentage of 79.57%.
