Assam: Heroin Worth ₹24 Crore Seized In Cachar

GUWAHATI: In a recent operation conducted by the Cachar Police, a major drug haul worth ₹24 crore was intercepted in Dholai, Assam. The operation, which took place in the early hours of the day, resulted in the apprehension of a suspect allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the suspect was intercepted by the police, and upon searching his belongings, authorities discovered 30 soap boxes and 4 leather bags containing approximately 4.765 kilograms of suspected heroin. It is believed that the contraband was being transported from a neighboring state.

The operation was lauded by CM Sarma, who commended the efforts of the Assam Police. Taking to social media platform X, Sarma reiterated the state's commitment to combating the menace of drug trafficking.
