GUWAHATI: The helplines provided by the Assam Police has got great response, informed Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta during a press conference on April 20.
He stated that seniors citizens have been helped through the helpline numbers. 75000 families have benefitted, 2 lakh individuals and more than 3000 animals have been helped.
Further 5 lakh kgs of food materials delivered by police.
"Through the COVID-19 helpline of Assam Police, we have helped 2207 individuals in the state and 28452 people outside the state with various issues. Mental helpline got 250 calls and councelling is going on," Mahanta said adding that the police is also doing contact tracing.
