GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to launch a special recruitment drive to induct SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) contractual teachers and state pool teachers into positions as regular teachers.

This was one of the key decisions taken by the Assam Cabinet on Thursday, June 27, at its meeting in Nalbari. This initiative is in recognition of the need for experienced teachers in government schools.
The existing service rules will be revised to allow experienced contractual teachers to transition into regular teaching positions in the lower and upper primary schools. The move will impact approximately 35,133 contractual teachers and state pool teachers in the state.
